Proudly Part Of The Community Of Sydney Catholic Schools

Why choose our school?

St Kevin’s Catholic Primary School Eastwood provides a wealth of academic, co-curricular and social justice opportunities to ensure that we educate well-rounded children that emerge as good people. We are small enough to know every child individually yet large enough to provide a dynamic, interactive environment for children to discover their best.

Extensive parent involvement and a teaching staff that care deeply about our students are critical ingredients to St Kevin’s success. Our welcoming, multicultural community provides a wonderful foundation for your child’s education journey.

Principal’s Message

I am delighted to welcome you to St Kevin’s Catholic Primary School Eastwood.

I’m very proud and feel privileged to lead and serve such a well-established, organised and very friendly school community. Children, staff and parents are known, community involvement is encouraged and we enjoy strong links between the parish and the school.

I believe that the key to a happy and successful education of every child in our care is the quality of relationships between all members of the school community. We value the partnerships we have with our parents, as we work together to develop successful learners, confident and creative individuals and active and informed citizens. Our school is big enough to provide a diverse range of opportunities and small enough to ensure we know every child and can offer individual attention and support.

I believe that having quality, inspirational and passionate teachers is essential to a school’s success. Our dedicated and professional staff are committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment, where we celebrate individual differences, active collaboration and the ongoing pursuit of excellence.

As a community, we strive to support each other, work with each other, understand and care for each other, all for the well-being of the children, who are our primary focus. Schools do not succeed by themselves. I invite you to be a part of the daily life of our school community.

Mrs Maree Simpson
Principal

History
St Kevin’s Catholic Primary School Eastwood was opened in 1925 with 35 children. The Sisters of Mercy, Parramatta, were responsible for the administration of St Kevin’s for the next 50 years and in that time the mark of the Mercy charism was stamped on the school. In 1976 the first lay principal was appointed with the charism and traditions remaining strong as well as the great sense of community. Our Mercy values of justice, respect, option for the poor, compassion and excellence permeates every aspect of school life. The school now has over 400 students with fourteen classes of boys and girls from Kindergarten to Year 6.

We are committed to:

  • Respecting and nurturing each child within a welcoming community
  • Providing quality education which challenges each child to strive for excellence
  • Preparing children to respond to a changing world

We are inspired by our motto: ‘Through faith and learning we grow’.

Our school, families and the parish work in partnership for the wellbeing and academic growth of every child.
