At St Kevin’s Catholic Primary School Eastwood, we give students the opportunity to become student leaders. This enhances their experience at our school and their wider community relationships. At St Kevin’s we have the following model of shared leadership:

Elected Student Leaders: 12  leaders are elected from Year 5 student nominations and voting in Term 4 for the following year. Our elected student leaders are committed to supporting and encouraging everyone to be the best person they can be; respecting the school’s values and rules; always trying to follow in Jesus’ footsteps, and continuing to make St Kevin’s a place where everyone feels welcome and safe.

SRC (Student Representative Council): Our SRC ensures that whole school student body have a formal forum to share any news, ideas or concerns they have about their school community. In addition, St Kevin’s SRC gives students a role in school governance.  It is a visible way in which St Kevin’s seek to engender student voice, participation and leadership.

Mercy Action Group (MAG): Our Mercy student leaders meet regularly along with one student from each class in years 3-6.  This group works together in coordinating various outreach initiatives and events

Peer Support Groups: All Year 5 and 6 student led a peer support group that allows students to build relationships across grades to foster networks throughout the school.
